This lesson focuses on laying the foundation for effective communication.  In this chapter we will address the key elements to effective communication and the barriers that exist that can derail that process.

In our second lesson, we focus on recognizing individual styles and learning to style flex in our daily communication for better results.

Lesson Three – Listening and Writing for Understanding

In Lesson Three, we hone in on how to ensure we not only hear what is being said but have a very clear understanding of the message using active listening techniques.  We also dive into the written message and communicating with tact and clarity to avoid misunderstandings.

Lesson Four – Communication Skills

In order to take your communication skills to the next level for optimum performance, it is required to dive deeper into ways to be more proactive in your efforts to develop trust and confidence in your relationships that will generate better results.  Here we also evaluate ways to communicate with the end result in mind that will lead to win-win scenarios.

Lesson Five – Conflict Management

Conflict is not only inevitable, it is healthy if managed correctly.  In Lesson Five we focus on prevention of unnecessary conflict first and foremost but then skills to more effectively work through and resolve conflict for the best possible outcome.  The ability to evaluate problems from many different angles and viewpoints in a constructive manner is critical for businesses to thrive.  In this lesson, we will also discuss techniques for dealing with difficult people and difficult situations so your team is prepared when the need arises.

Lesson Six –Team Communication Skills

Finally, we wrap up this training module with key skills in team communication to ensure a common understanding is reached and that all team members are speaking the same language.  We also review methods of preparation, hosting, and follow up to ensure the team is having and benefiting from successful meetings.  Meetings are essential and can provide great value to the organization if handled correctly and this lesson will ensure your team is in position to reap the rewards.
